LNP member Allegedly harassed on they way to his wife’s funeral Under Bikie Laws

North Queensland MP Shane Knuth says the state’s new bikie laws have led to alleged police harassment of one of the Liberal National Party’s (LNP) own party members.

Mr Knuth, the Katter’s Australian Party Member for Dalrymple, says Noel Evans was stopped by police while riding in a motorbike guard of honour at his wife’s funeral in Townsville.

Yesterday, the riders said they were customers and business partners of a local Townsville motorcycle shop and were not associated with any bikie clubs.

The bikers say their phone numbers were recorded and they were filmed, despite alerting police days earlier about their plans to escort the hearse.
